Boxer Rescue of Atlantic Canada

Below are our current adoptables, searching for their Forever homes. If you're interested in a particular dog, please state this on your application.

Right now, Boxer Rescue of Atlantic Canada is in desperate need on donations to front our mounting vet bills. The need has surpassed what we normally expect to be faced with. Please help, if you can. Every penny counts:

Notice:

We usually don't post our adoptables on the website unless we have no active applicants who meet the needs of the dog. We maintain a list of applicants and encourage anyone inquiring about adopting to pre-submit an application to be considered when one of our dogs is released from foster. All of the dogs we bring in are fostered for a minimum of 3 weeks while they are vetted and assessed, and each dog is different - the foster period is based on their needs. Upon successful fostering period, we then take the step to assess our list to see who is the best applicant to suit his/her needs. If no applicants are actively looking, or if none meet the criteria for the dog, it is then that we post him/her on our website. Our applications are not based on a 'first come' basis but rather suitability.

At this point in time we have numerous dogs in foster care. Until they are available for adoption we do not provide any information as it can disappoint if something is incorrect or if a heath or behavioral issue is discovered.

Franko is a beautiful dark brindle boy who just turned 2 years old. Franko is a sweet dog and is well tempered but can be anxious. He's had a history of separation anxiety but seems to do well when left with another animal. For this reason, and because Franko is such a social, fun loving boy, we will give preference to applicants who have another dog in their home. Franko is also good with cats. He can be a pest but he does not attempt to harm them.Any commands that Franko may have known were in french. He's currently learning to obey these commands by their english words and he's working on his manners in distracting environments.Franko seems to be good with children but some more time and testing is needed with this since we do not have a history on him in regards to his experiences and exposure.Franko is being crate trained in his foster home, has recently been neutered, vaccinated and de-wormed.Location: Cape BretonStatus: Adoption Pending
